The Welfare Pension is a financial assistance scheme implemented through the Local Self-Government Department and various Welfare Fund Boards to ensure financial security for people belonging to different sections of society in Kerala. Pension Categories and Eligibility Criteria
The various pension schemes available through the Panchayat and their eligibility criteria are as follows:
Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension
A monthly pension for eligible senior citizens aged 60 years and above, subject to the prescribed conditions.
Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension
A pension provided to widowed women to ensure financial security and support.
Indira Gandhi National Disability Pension
A government pension scheme for individuals facing physical or mental disabilities/challenges.
Pension for Unmarried Women Above 50 Years
A special pension provided by the government to eligible unmarried women aged 50 years and above.
Agricultural Workers’ Pension
Financial assistance provided during old age to workers who have been engaged in agricultural labour throughout their working life.
